PS3 being traded for Wii?

my brother camped out for a wii last sunday. it's interesting to say the least. like ps3 though, there arn't any good games out for it yet. wii sports gets really old after a while, tennis is the only good one on there. i got him zelda, apparently that's really good, but that's only sp. i know i wouldnt spring for either one till there is a game i actually want for it. and i probably still wouldnt get either because i dont play my xbox enough as it is

lets see wii sold something like 5 million consoles thus far and how many has ps3 sold??? barely 1 million. So what does that tell you? That Blue ray is inferior format to HD and not because of display properties or the storage capabilities but because of the price and how no one likes sony. Esp when you can get a HD-dvd player for $500 whereas the ps3 is $600 or a blue ray player is $1000. hmm no wonder ps3 no one wants it considering the performance isnt any better than HD-DVD.

1.) The PS3 hasn't sold so many because of manufacturing problems and not demand problems. The demand for PS3 is extreme.

2.) The Wii has sold so much because its extremely easy to make. The components are literally redesigned GameCube parts with double the clocks and a few extra instructions.

3.) What exactly do you mean by price? The price of the media is directly related to its demand. Neither of which are high for HD DVD or Blu Ray. Blu Ray is the superior format technology wise, but its creator is Sony and therefore I believe will fail. The prices are so high on the players because they are not being subsidized like Toshiba is doing with their HD DVD players. In reality they both actually cost basically the same to manufacture.

the ps3 is not selling any because there is no demand for it. Look online at ebay. they are selling now for LESS than retail if they sell at all. Hell the walmart near me has had the same 13 ps3's for the past 4 days without selling a single one (I know the guy who works in the electronics department). So manufacturing has absolutely NOTHING to do with this issue. I am having an easy time finding ps3's around but can not find a WII anywhere around me.

I got one as an early Christmas present. Im not sure why theres a lot of negative stuff about it Im rather enjoying it even though I only have Resistance which is probably the only good launch title. As for the whole ebay thing I think people failed to realized when the 360(even the ps2) first came out and they were going for huge profits is that it was the only next gen system out at the time so of course it will be limited and go for high prices. But now with the PS3 people have a choice in next gen consoles so the demand took a hit on the ebay market. Plus everyone jumped in the whole selling them for profit and oversaturated the market by buying like 10 of them and trying to resell them. Greed was mostly to blame this round I think.

Im not an expert on the whole buisiness aspect but I dont really care about the blue ray or HD or whatever format hell I dont even have a HD tv to see the difference. Sure the PS3 had lackluster launch titles with 1 or 2 games as must haves. But you can say that for pretty much any system launch. I dunno maybe Im just wierd. But all this is coming from a person that loved the Sega Dreamcast system very much and it tanked so what do I know.

seriously doubt that. Your walmart must be a tucked away secret or no one in that area wants to drop$600+game+tax on a console.. All over the rest of the country stores are sold out of PS3's. Demand is still there.

The reason why everything around the PS3 is negative is because its basically a more expensive Xbox 360. For example, nearly every once exclusive for Sony will make an appearance on the 360. Virtual Fighter 5 for example just got moved to Xbox 360 too, Tekken rumors, some MSG rumors, etc. Assassins Creed was suppose to be PS3 exclusive, nope its on all platforms (except Wii). Its compounded by the fact that Sony still has lackluster development tools, and even though developers have had PS3 dev kits longer than Xbox 360 developers have had them (hard to believe when Xbox 360 is a year older, but its true) and yet the PS3 launch games that are multiplatform come with worse graphics.

It was a horrible launch by Sony, it should get better but I simply see no purpose to own one right now, or really till the end of this generation.

That comes down to the fact that the "HD Generation" is just simply far to expensive to develop for only one console and expect to even not loss a couple million.
