I'm only about 10% into the game, but it's proving to be quite different.
I was expecting it to be a typical 3D shooter and just the models and
maps qualifying it as 'Western', but it actually has cool missions, a healthy
amount of gore (you can shoot a guy's head clear off), and so far, an
interesting story line.
You play in 3rd person normally, but can switch to firt person/down the barrel
for the gunfighting. Yesterday I managed to piss off the town by trampelling
some of the town dogs with my horse.
