upgrade wifes computer

its just not lasting and I dont think it will make it to the lan party. so I am thinking

CPU

MOTHERBOARD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157081
RAM

HARD DRIVE

POWERS

or
http://www.atacom.com/program/print_... _22&USER_ID=

not sure which ps right now as the bottom one is $30 cheaper than top one.

The CPU/Motherboard cause the current setup is not 64 bit.

Ram cause well needs to be upgraded

hard drive because I can only instal like 2 games before the drives are filled up

Heck with this setup her computer will be better than mine with the downfall being the video card.

Get the cheaper PSU, you do not need that type of power for that system at all. Also, an OCZ can generally handle power needs actually above their rating, these are very heavy duty PSU's.

I also suggest you do not spend that much on a CPU. Get a 3200+. Tests show that once you break the 3000+ barrier you get next to nothing when running games at the normal high graphics settings. Save the money and put it towards a graphics card.

Which is my question, what card is going into this system?

Also, 64 bit means nothing. Unless you run in Windows XP 64bit you get none of the benefits, and then there's the funny thing that XP64 has NO benefits at all for games right now. It also still has lackluster driver support and many times weird issues like printer drivers. Just use standard 32bit XP.

Seasonic S-12s are awesome. Very quiet and very efficient. They also come in 500 and 600w models if you need that kind of power.

I am running that ASRock board Blong and have had no problems once I got the AGP driver installed correctly.

That is way more power than you need, I am running a 400w Antec with out any problems.

I dont want to have to upgrade the psu for a few years thus why I am going that OCZ. I am not going to upgrade the video card but it is a 9800 pro. I see no need in upgrading the video card yet and yes its agp.

just noticed your post. I am going with OCZ because I have the powerstream 520w OCZ and you cant tell its running its so quiet. the only thing that makes my computer loud is the 120mm fan. Plus I trust OCZ . I just wasnt sure if I really needed the Powerstream for my wifes computer since it isnt going to need to handle as much for a long time.

A loud 120mm fan? My 120mm is dead silent, large fan with low RPM gives still plenty of airflow. Its the stupid 80mm fans that are loud, they need to spin faster in order to produce as much airflow.
