You're joking right? The iBook's and powerbooks look nice, they're very nice and have slick curves, they do not look like any major OEM notebook off the top of my head. The G5 was different compared to other OEM's, do I think it is that great of a chasis? No, not at all compared to what I can buy and build myself, but compared to the OEM market its a much better than normal case. The iMac's, the new one's at least, are very slick also, though I think they are fairly low quality, they look nice.

Hmm, the only sore thumb with Apple design wise, to me, is the iPod. Not because of just one wheel. But because they are late to the game with some things, they cost WAY to much compared to what they offer, and they simply are tied down by the evil that is iTunes.

I also hate "i" at everything, but its a trend, and every company that wants to have a hit in pop culture has a "i" product.

I personally couldn't live without my iPod Chem. I've looked at all the others out there and I can't find anything that competes in price/storage ratio. As for the wheel...thats a matter of personal preference. I love the thing. The accessories make the iPod too. I literaly use the thing everywhere from my car to work to my garage. My only problem with iTunes is the DRM but you'll get that anywhere if you want domestic downloads. The only other ones I like at all are the iRiver ones but they don't offer the storage for the price. iHate the iThing too though.

Anyway, back to iHarbs point. iHate the iNdia tech service so much but from a company perspective they are going to do it if they can get away with it. They get a highly educated work force for a fraction of the costs. iT sucks but iTs business.

Personally I'll never call them anyway but it still sucks.

Thats why i like dell's internet chat support

Personally, i wouldnt buy a mac, not because i think they are inferior products.. just because i have no use for one. I am mainly a gamer, when not gaming, I will probably be doing network support. The only reason i would get a mac is to learn any issues running a network connected to one, and troubleshoot it.

My sister owns a mac, just upgraded it to OS x tiger, and she has always used mac .... cause she does graphic design.

I might get a mac sometime in the future but not in the near future as i just built a new rig.

****. Look what I started.

Skidz, I was busting your balls. I know you are in the printing biz.

I've been waiting for a time to share that story and skidz revived this opportunity with some fresh meat.

not sure i've seen the new imacs, but didn't know there was a new one out yet. but the ibook has a freaking handle on it. what's with apple and putting handles on their computer; it just makes them ugly. other than looks and price, i really don't have a problem with macs. just prefer pcs

Way to go Lopo.

I knew you were. I was just reacting to the comment about how "ugly" Macs are. LOL. Everyone knows you can't mention Apple without this argument starting. It's like starting a 5spd. vs. auto discussion in a off road forum!

Good lord people, what happened in here? Someone toss in a nade made out of an apple on you?

My wife is a graphic designer and is on her 3rd mac, which will probably be replaced later this year with #4, but that all depends on the software being released for the new proc.

I recently bought an iMac to help her with some over flow work she had, and I don't have anything negative at all I can say about it. It was the easiest thing I have ever setup and started using. Everything about the OS is intuitive, easy to find and where you would expect to find it. Ok, I lied there one thing that bugs the piss out of me is the mouse that ships with it. That was a serious wtf moment, then I plugged in a real mouse and all was good.

IMO, the iMacs are the one of the sharpest looking things out there. They don't come in colors anymore and haven't for quite some time - here is a picture for you

<img src=http://a248.e.akamai.net/7/248/2041/985/store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/step1productshot_imac_051128.jpg>

While the game selection has gotten much better for Mac, it has a LONG way to go, and this I can't forsee using it for a gaming rig but maybe that will change.

Lastly, I have said this more than once, but here it is again, you don't need to use iTunes with and iPod - I hate iTunes it just simply can't not handle my music catalog. I have opted for another product called Anapod which works great and no DRM. iPod's are over priced IMO, but since I didn't pay full price for it it seemed to be in the right $ range.

I must say I am tired of the Ieverything - that is something that has had its time over and over already.

At least you know you will feel the luv in here harb

Then you can first hand experience, not buying a computer, but a change in lifestyle. iLifestyle - you buy our stuff to accessorize your fashion and discuss over a latte.

Believe it or not I was in an apple store last Thursday. The sights I saw, the converstations I overheard - they all reinforce my comment directly above.
