I heard somewhere they were changing the name to something else before release and that release is now Q2 07.

I seriosly doubt those rumors MA. A rename..... its already under gone one of those, and I kinda like Vista myself.

As for the release, nope. The reason is that graphics chip makers, and computer OEMs would basically kill MS if they delayed it any longer. DirectX10 cards are already being shown behind closed doors and those require Vista, and OEMs need a new selling point.

Windows XP = Windows Version 2002
Windows Vista = Windows Version 2007

It may have a marketable name, but when you get down to it, it's still based around the year.

lol, if I get time I'll look into the name and rellease thing. My company is a MS partner and it was some one at work that told me about the delay and name change. Most likely just another MS rumor

Vista has been planned for RTM in Q2 2007 for over a year now... No Delay, just releasing it on time with the RTM schedule, which is never public info... And, yes, the name May Change for release.... Remember, Microsoft uses ALL HP Hardware and HP Help Desks to develop their programs on, and they always work best on HP hardware
