I'm stoopid - HELP :)

Ok about 3-4 months ago there was this stupid bulletin about a security with Thumb-nailed image icon in windows that allowed people to run malicious code... So someone posted the cmd in windows to disable the thumbnails.. I'm tired of not having them and have jumped and search like mad web and here for the re-enable command.

Anyone have this cmd? I didn't bookmark the stupid thing. I've looked just about everywhere for this bulletin but can't find the dam Cmd to enable them back.

will do some more digging

If the post was really old its probably gone.

The problem was that when I was going through all of those threads (read: TONS) I got to the point where I had just just start to delete old and irrelevent stuff. I tried to recall and reread a lot of threads that were useful still, but as some of you might know that's a huge time consuming process.

So if one of your threads was delete, then I'm sorry. It was not on purpose if it was useful.

I did some more looking and came across what I thought was the re-enable cmd but it didn't fix it. I find it Very odd that I can not find this solution online at all. I wonder if maybe along the way it got removed from the locations it was posted..

just to know the command that didnt work was....

regsvr32.exe /i shdocvw.dll

I got it... took a while but I dug in my registry and also had some refs about thumbnails. after finding what the regsvr ref dll was It was a piece of cake to fix...

Heres the full run(shingvw) show img reference

This will remove the thumbnails totally from Machine
regsvr32 shimgvw.dll /u

This allows you to have your thumbnails back.
regsvr32 shimgvw.dll /i
