I'm not sure, they do have some really big name sponsors though AMD, Intel, Happpauge are listed on the front page as examples. So they probably get funding through them. I dont see any advertisements so I doubt its through that.

The service has been good, works as they say and makes for some nice methods of legally "sharing" music.

It looks like they collect email addresses because that is your logins, maybe they sell lists.
