windows update
For whatever reason, when Windows downloads and installs a critical update, it resets my computer automatically. This happens during the night while I'm sleeping so there's nothing I can do about it. Anyone know how to stop this? I use my computer for an alarm clock so if it resets in the night, my alarm won't go off, and I'll probably end up sleeping through class.

Turn off Auto Update, or select to Download, but not install until you say so. Under system properties, you have several options.

That is just for when Windows re-prompts you to reset your computer over and over again. My problem is that it automatically resets my computer without even asking. It just does it.

lol erad already told you how to fix that problem. He then said you can adjust more properties in the system folder. What I was talking about was that stupid pop up every 10 minutes is annoying and thats why I gave you that link. I assumed when you changed your windows update settings (which is in your control panel) you wanted to know how to stop that pop up . sorry lol.
