I doubt the hard drive company would ever sell you the logic board separate unless you were certified in some way to refurbish the drives. I guess if you have to get files off the drive this would be the way to go in a last ditch (and expensive) effort before data recovery (much more expensive) places. Either way, this is why we have back ups.
