anyone know how to...
get ringtones on a motorola v3m using the usb cable?
I made a crap load of ringtones for my nextel phone which was very easy... they are all the same format that can be used by the motorola razr v3m. but it seems to be real difficult to get into the phone to upload them.
I hate nextel but it seems its easier to make and upload ringtones to thier phones.
so if anyone knows about the verizon motorola razr v3m please please clue me in... I been here for 3 days trying and I must be doing something wrong...
thanks...

11. I Need to verify file types that can be transfered to the phone... only MP3's renamed to .QCP can be added via BT OBEX file transfer... What about General Midi, and iMelody files via BT OBEX? Does this limit also exist when using MPT or P2KCommander instead?
- Confirmed for BT OBEX File Transfer in item #2 above.
- For MPT, see item #3.
- For P2KCommander se Item # 10.

Im not sure if this helps but I have a Razr V3xx and the only way I found to upload ringtones/pics onto the phone via USB is to get the Motorola Phone Tools Software which works with most Motorola phones. It even comes with an editor so you can section out bits of mp3s to use as the ringtone. Im sure there are non official ways of doing so but Im not aware of any. sry that probably wasnt much help.

Not sure this will help, but I have a v325i and the way to get mine to work ended up being the use of MPT and setting my phone to a v323 and then it worked (after I did the seem edit).

after all said and done the easiest way that I found to get ringtones onto the phone was a website called myxertones.com
you can upload your tones there and they send them back to you via text... it works great so far!
