I would pick the 2 core as opposed to 4, I can't imagine anything really utilizing 4.

Isn't saying that you have one part of the game He who has the most at the end wins

I just bought that CPU last week. I was looking at the Dual vs Quad, and the Quad totally rocks the Dual. Having Multiple Apps open actually uses all 4 cores.

At the price I would certainly grab a Quad at this point unless you don't want to spend over $150 on a processor.

eh - chalk this up to my inability to read...
Chem - I have a question for you, I have an AMD Opteron 165 currently running at 1.8 with 2gb of ram with a 6800GT. I am thinking of the upcoming games coming out and thinking about a new video card. I would like to keep the cost as cheap as possible and would rather not have to build a new system. So with my current setup am I going to benefit much from a new video card? Obviously I would benefit more from a complete new build... but being cheap and all....

AGP or PCIe slot? AGP your best possible option is a X1950 Pro which are fairly cheap, if PCIe depends on how much you're willing to spend.

I can do either, but would rather move away from AGP.
As far as cost - well - I bought the 6800GT when it first came out and spent $400+ for it and it has lasted my a good long while so I would guess about the same or less.

8800GTS 320MB is best bet for the $$$ at the above $200, but less than $300.
