Angry Sometimes I hate M$ !!!

We are getting ready to rollout our first Vista x64 workstation, it is going to {OF}Mack10. Last week I had Vista x64 working just fine on my laptop, I was able to edit the domain Group Policy just fine. Last week they released Vista SP1, of course I installed it to verify all of our user applications still would run properly. Yupper, everything looked great.

I try to edit the domain Group Policy because of a suggested change from {OF}elbee - the fricking snap-in will not start. I search and confirm that M$ has killed the ability to run gpmc.msc with Vista SP1 !!! They only way is to wait for the new admin tools to be released from M$, they have no release date yet! grrrr. I might have to buy Win2008 server or rollback my workstation to pre-SP1, the frickin hosers!!

I hate when they do this, they do the same thing with the admin tools, always the last to come out. I know when I was doing vista testing I couldn't do alot of my work because admin tools wouldn't run so I had to go back to XP so I could work.

Removing gpmc seems like a really stupid move.

yeah, that bit me as well. my workaround is to rdp into a non production 2003 server with the gpmc on it.

But Mimic, you wouldn't have the 800 additional policy items for Vista/2008 then. Those are the policy items I need to look at and possibly change.

true, but none of our users actually use vista and none of our production servers are 2008, so for now, it's not an issue for us.
