For data and music I use Nero.
Easy to use and works great. I've had it for years and never had a problem.
You can read about it hear... Nero – Nero - Nero 8
For movies I use DVD X Copy Platinum.
It is the old version, before they lost the lawsuit, and I don't know how well the new version works.

After some research online seems to me that Nero and Roxio are the most popular.

I have used both Roxio & Nero. Both have been good for me. I'm installing Nero right now for my DVD lightscribe

Nero = #1 burning software. I am still running nero 6 I believe. well actually im not running anything but the default linux software now that I cant get windblows running.

Nero 6 (cripes, am I living in the dark ages here). I'm happy with it and getting moderately excited about buying a Blu-ray burner sometime in the next 40 years when the media costs lest per unit than my mortgage.
