Doom Review

Saw it. The FPS mode towards the end was worth the price of admission, just to see something like that on the big screen was cool!! Started slow but ended up a fun movie, if you're a Rock/ DOOM fan you should enjoy this.

I thought that some parts were filmed in too much darkness. When the monsters were attacking, I couldn't understand what was going on. I assumed it was something violent, but I couldn't really see it.

Two of the cast embers, Karl Urban and Rosamund Pike, have signed for a potential sequel. Rock has not signed but apparently said "it's possible" and is interested.

It is what it is, a violent movie. I would recommend this movie for FOS members to see.

unfortunatly it does not follow the doom story line too well, i still liked the movie, but after playing the games...it really dampers you when they change the movie around, and the demons didnt even shoot energy/fire balls! pfffffffffttttttttttttt

I thought it was ok. Kind of slow at times, but the Rock rules.

Only thing missing was Ninjas. Cause Ninjas Rewl Da Skewl.

I just got back from it. I agree it was kinda slow to start but when the bullets started flying it turned into a hell of a fun VIOLENT AS HELL popcorn flick. I hated how they were all like OMG GENETIC MUTATION MONSTERS...feh. Give me demons from hell. But it was cool they called them demons an such anyhow. The FPS part was sweet to me for some reason and was it me or was the music playing a remix of the original Doom's first level BGM? They needed more monsters though it seemed like there was just a few doing the major killing then we have the Zombie scientists near the end. Where were the zombie marines with weapons and yes where were the fireballs at yo? Thats what it was missing.

The Rock was badass as Sarge and the guy who played Reaper was awesome as well but his sister god she was annoying and what the hell is up with everyone on the Marine squad being walking cliches? I mean we have the jerk, the newbie, the brooding guy with a dark past, the tough as nails take no **** Sgt. =-P But Like the storyline from the game was Oscar material anyway. So ya. I liked it much more than I expected it to be. One of the better Videogame to movie adaptations in a good while. Mortal Kombat 1 is still number 1 in my book. Lets not even talk about the sequel to that. What trash. But I digress. Ive played all the games and for the most part it kept the feel of Doom 3 mostly sans the monsters not being demons from a portal to hell, but thats Hollywood for ya.

It was fun, not bright, but a lot of fun. I loved the twist and the FPS sequence, even if the FPS sequence was definitely completely different from the rest of the pace of the movie. In fact the FPS sequence really hurt the pace of the film. That doesnt mean it still wasnt fun. Go see it.

And they were walking cliches because they were the "gamer archetypes". You had the ultra macho players, the n00b, the pervert/asshole, the guy who loves the biggest guns and even the comedians. Actually that was one of my favorite things about this movie.
