You would think its known by now, for 90% of cabling there is no point at all in going with something so over priced. Once you get into longer distances however the cable cost will have to go up because indeed you simply need higher quality materials. Cables are some of the most over priced items out there, people are suckered into it all the time. There are very few people who honestly need to do 35-ft runs with a cable, those blessed with a good projector system maybe, but most all setups have your equipment right below your TV. Why spend $120 on a cable when the $5 one does the same exact job...
I also didn't get the 1440P test though... nothing in the near future is going to be running that. In fact, if it ever (which I doubt, for one its not that *large* of a increase, and not a standard which will be a major switch) becomes popular I would imagine better display technologies would be used. DisplayPort comes to mind on such.

because those $5 cables cant properly handle 1080p so a $60 cable is needed (has to be v1.2 or higher for proper 1080p). Maybe you need to do some reading at HDMI.
Yes Dudio Monster is WWWWAAAYYYY overpriced for the quality that you get. Thats why I buy online cables from vendors because they are of the same material and about 1/2 the price of monster.

Odd how the $5 6ft cable passed both the real world and future world 1080P tests in a independent test. Just so odd...

remember this thread?
Anyone looking for cheap cables?
I got my cables there. Their reviews are very positive and you can't beat the prices.

sorry forgot about this thread.
I missed the point in the following article about anything over 4m in length v1.2 is needed but at less than 4 it doesnt really matter. The reason 1.2 is needed is because 1080p requires double what 1080i does (1080i requires 75hz whereas 1080p requires 150hz). all v1.3 is saying is that the cable can do upto 340hz which is a little overkill for 1080p but will work for future upgrades of 1440p. So I apoligize chem you were right about the 4m length thing. However I will say v1.2 cables are around $30 right now.
