Knight Rider
Anyone else watch this? If the made for TV movie does well enough, they will turn it into a weekly series.
I think that the movie kept well into the grasp of the old series, i enjoyed watching it quite a bit. Definatly a good way to re-introduce it though, anyone else watch it and have thoughts on it?
I know its not the same car, but it will do

I saw it and the voice of kit really annoyed me, I wanted to like it more, but it was just kind of par for me.

I had hoped for more as well....and I wasn't surprised that 'the Hoff' would make an appearance. (LOL who the hell calls him that anyway? Folks that can't spell Hasslehoff??)
As for the voice of KITT....yeah, William Daniels is -the- voice, no other will do. Of course, those who never saw the original series won't have these criticisms.

The show tried too hard to explain everything. Leave some things to the imagination. As for KITT, I am not a big Ford fan, but you can't argue with a Shelby Mustang GT500.

HGAHAHAh I can't believe this is a discussion. People actually watched it? Just the thought of a spin off of something D.H did make my skin turn inside out...
No thanks, I'd rather rake my eyeballs out with barbed wire.

I could have sworn I saw a sneak peek at the car and there was a cobra in the grill....
it looks like they changed the car becasue the sneak peek pics from awhile ago are different than what I see today...
Knight Rider: It's Official! Knight Rider's KITT is a Shelby GT500KR Mustang
not sure but there are two different cars in those pics...

I caught the encore tonight. Im kinda torn about it really. The original show was cheesy has hell but it was fun and still is fun to watch even today. Its lost some of the magic watching it now then I had when I was a kid but damn do I love it. Anyway its hard to say how I feel about the new one. It felt like a 2 hour ford commercial with Knight Rider elements honestly. The new KITT is alright I guess, but doesnt seem as awesome and futuristic as the old one since a lot of cars now can do stuff like have satellite navigation, internet capabilities and drive themselves.
The whole nanotech morphing thing seemed like a rip off of the older show VIPER which featured a morphing dodge viper so I dunno at least in Viper it could morph into a 4 wheel drive Viper with huge tires. The show I think focused TOO much on the characters I mean i know they need to establish who they are but Knight Rider was always about KITT and doing a crazy turbo boost at least once an episode and beating the badguys. I have to admit I smiled at the David Hasslehoff cameo at the end. But like he said in there "move forward" which I think tv producers need to do. Let the 80s stay in the 80s and make something new. It was a nice enough movie, but it also reminded me of how ive grown since then and the magic of talking indestructable cars has lost some of its luster.
