lol clyde

most tv's now you wouldnt have to worry about glare anyways. my living room where the tv is the tv is so bright that it overpowers any glare that would exist. If i was to buy a tv again I would go panasonic but again the ones I want are out of my price range well ok out of the range I am willing to pay . The new laser tvs are supposed to be out soon but I havent physically seen one yet so I am not sure what exactly they look like. Also you can ALWAYS ask an associate to show you a comparison on any tv. Meaning you can ask them to bring a blu-ray player over to whatever tv and show a comparison. They are also MORE than willing to show you the difference in upscaled dvd vs Blu-ray (the results will astound you as yes you CAN see a huge difference) vs 480i/720p directv vs 1080i directv (last I knew circuit city only used directv for their feeds). With that said I wouldnt base your tv buying experience at some place like circuit city. You are better off going to a mom and pop place like classic car and stereo where they will have properly setup just about every tv in the store.

I agree with with Blong, places like Circuit City and Best Buy don't always have the TV's calibrated correctly. I've seen nice TV's with a crappy picture because they were not correctly tuned/calibrated out of the box. A place like AVS forums is a great place to educate yourself. I don't mind buying a TV from CC or BB, but it's best to be educated a little before you go to the store. Personally my favorite is the Sony XBR4's.
