And so do a lot of hobbyist, I would certainly never recommend them to spend money on a Quadro or FireGL if all they do is do it for fun. If it were a job I would expect him to have upgraded for such awhile ago.

Looking on Newegg the cheapest Quardro with playing on for an otherwise high end system costs over $1000. Not worth it unless its a serious career related investment.

Grey, don't you do 3D stuff at work? What kind of graphics card do you use there?

Yeah... not spending $1000 on a single card. I'm just a hobbyist but I do sometimes end up making high polygon models. Sometimes my perspective view gets really choppy and will occasionally freeze up for a couple of minutes.

you see Danny getting married worked for you. now you can finally upgrade lol. amd or intel well right now intel is better with their new cpu but amd lower the price on all the high end cpu's they got. now so if money is no issue then intel right now. video cards is a close call too. i would wait for vista to come out then will see who's best. in my case i cant upgrade anything. for now my baby girl is taking all my money for the upgrades . well is no big deal. . i also cant play much at all. at least lately. is baby time most of the day besides work. anyway is cool that you can finally do a upgrade. a good one

Yes, we use the FireGL in all our systems.
