We bought a motorhome that had been repo'd. I got a good price of $3k less than NADA book price. I could not do a test drive but it looked fine underneath.
Now we've spent $3600 to have pretty much everything up front replaced, oops. I wandered so much it was unsafe. Now it drives great. My son-inlaw is a certified pipe welder so this past long weekend he helped weld up some frame bracing so that towing my trailer and jeep wouldn't twist the frame around. He did a great job welding. It took me two days but I got the wiring run from front to back and the brake controller installed. I replaced the gummed up carb on the generator and it works great now. I also removed the couch so that Mudge has a place to lay down. Meathead already claimed the engine cover spot between the front seats
So below are a couple pictures of the "Project". One after a test drive with the jeep being towed, it towed better than I thought, very steady and maintained 60 mph in OD without downshifting.
Now Mrs Smiley is getting ready to wax it, there was lots of ozidation from sitting in the sun for two years. She had spent the weekend cleaning off the oxidation and black streaks.
