I found one for $130! I knew this site had "nature" in it but it's taken me awhile to find it again, the Apex beanbag must be new because I don't remember a $130 one.
Beanbags, Ground Pods & Misc. - The NatureScapes.Net Store

The SkimmerSack and the Skimmer Ground Pod II combo would be very cool, maybe one day............

Hey guys, u might want to look at these for "shooting rest".

Shooting Supplies - Shop Everything for Your Firearm at MidwayUSA

Looks to me pretty much the same thing at a lot cheaper price. I have the
Caldwell DeadShot Front Shooting Rest Bag Nylon Filled that I use for my rifles and sighting in but there are several there to choose from. I can't hardly believe that some of these wouldn't work for a camera also.

I buy all my reloading supplies from Midwest USA and I can vouch for their quality service.

Oh, and great photo's the both of you. ER you make me really jealous with the views you have at your disposal.

I think the main reason photographers use a beanbag is to shoot out the window of a truck or car. That's why those bags have a U shape so that it will fit over the door or window. I have many opportunities to use one. As it is I now have to rest my lens on the edge of the window and it's hard to hold perfectly still. The camera and lens can be balanced on a big heavy bag and be much more stable. If you're shooting a big lens like a 500/4 they are almost a necessity, shooting from a rig. They are also very handy for ground level shots but I sure wouldn't carry one on a hike! You can fill the bags with dried beans, rice, bird seed, sand or whatever.
Thanks for that link DMW, those prices are much more reasonable.

Read install directions carefully FD, there are a few other proggies you might need. It can be finicky to setup but it's cool when you have it running correctly.
Tried installing it, but apparently I needed to install Imagemagick first. When I tried to do that, Norton blocked it as a high security risk?

I didn't get any warnings with AVG Free, Dutch. I haven't heard of any risks with that proggy and I've run Malwarebytes since installing the program and my system is clean according to it so I'm not sure where Norton is coming from but you could post in the LR forums. I'll go over there and see if anyone else has had an issue.

K, thxs for the info. The reason it mentions is "seldom used program" which makes sense if you're really paranoid I guess.

I will go ahead and install it and blame you if something goes wrong

First off Dutch, did you verify that imageMagick is working according to the last couple of paragraphs on this page?
ImageMagick: Install from Binary Distribution

Also, to quote that page:
"If you have any problems, install the Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) or Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64). 64-bit Windows requires both packages (x86 & x64)."

It sounds like you verified imagemagick but we need to be sure.

After adding the plugin did you do this step from this page LR2/Mogrify - Add Watermarks, Border and Text Annotions to Images Exported by Adobe Lightroom 2 ?
"
Step 4: Set up (Windows users only)

Windows users now need to tell the plugin where to find ImageMagick's mogrify application.
  1. Go to Lightroom's Library module, click on an image and then press the Export button.
  2. On the left side of the export dialog box, under 'Post Process Actions' double click on 'Mogrify Configuration'.
  3. In the Mogrify Configuration panel which is now showing on the right, press 'Choose', browse to the ImageMagick installation (e.g. C:\Program Files\ImageMagick-6.4.1-Q16 - this will vary with the version of ImageMagick) and choose mogrify.exe
"
If none of this works go to the export panel in LR and click on the Plug-in Manager button on the lower left corner. Then highlight LR2/Mogrify in the left hand box if there are more than one plug-ins. Then in the "status" box thingy on the right, where it shows the path to the plug-in, click "show in Explorer". In that folder I have a info.lua file, let's check to see if yours is there.
I have no idea why it may not be, maybe a bad download? I can send you a copy of mine or maybe try re-downloading Mogrify again and seeing if the file shows up.
If none of this works we'll try something else:-). Sure is a convoluted way to get something working, no doubt.
