I first saw him on television on the "Dobie Gillis Show" as the character Maynard G. Krebbs (a hippie). This was a short lived show that ran some time before Gilligan's Island.

I never did hear Bob Denver's take on the type casting the character Gilligan must have done to him, but it's sure one he couldn't ever escape from.

R.I.P. "little buddy"

Favorite Episodes? Mine was when Gilligan thought he was a vampire. It was pretty scary when I was a kid. Also the Jack and the Beanstalk show. When Gilligan is getting chased around the orange crates the skipper is the giant. They dressed Bob Denvers son up as Gilligan to make it look like the skipper was a giant.
