Texas

Not sure if anyone in the clan is from Texas but I have a new found respect for the Lone Star State.

They really stepped up when help was needed for Katrina victims and tonight I heard that they are going to let the kids complete the school year there.

CNN interviewed a man that lost his home and was bussed to Texas and he was in tears when he spoke about how well he was treated when he arrived - really nice to hear stories like that.

Texas does rock. I miss it. If I was still there, I would have tried to do some volunteer work.

1813 is in Houston, I don't know if we have other Texans. I only got to be one for 4 months. If I go back, I'd like to live in Austin.

I think if you look carefully, you will find that their are still real nice people all over the world in every city and every country. Unfortunatly it seems to be a dwindling natural resource like everything else slipping away from generation to generation.

A business man here in San Diego chartered a plane and brought back 15 families and then used the plane to take several loads of supplies to the affected areas. He set the families up in the Hilton for a few days, and now they're at the Bayside Holiday Inn for 3 weeks or so while job offers, housing offers, etc have been pouring in. Busses started picking up the children and taking them to school already. This guy also took them shopping for clothes & necessities and out for dinner. It's pretty amazing. Makes me feel really good.

Texas has become my favorite state for two reasons. The good works they are doing for the displaced Katrina people and THEY JUST BEAT OHIO STATE!!!

Good game tonight. Ohio State proved they belong in the top 5 in the nation with their performance. I was disappointed with a few coaching decisions, specifically when they had the ball at the 29 and went backwards. Should have been 3 runs to try to get to the 25 and put up a reasonable FG.

Zwick is definitely a better threat through the air and Smith is the bigger threat on the ground. Depending on the team they play will decide who has the better game.

Congrats to Texas, they played great today and deserve to be ranked at the top of the polls. Hopefully, these two teams could get a rematch in January if the season unfolds favorably for both teams. Took alot of guts for both teams to put so much on the line with the BCS arrangement.

wait......whats this thread about.....
