This year is unusual. Lots of green yet. It looks like the colors are kinda coming in stages instead of in a relatively small time window like normal.

This is the first year in in my 57 year old memory where I never had any heating on in the house whatsover through the whole month of September, and so far October. (I have an old farm house that's pretty leaky, so when it gets cold at night outside I usually needs heat). In year's past, it wasn't too uncommon to have full heating needed on labor day.

I have had my heat on a couple nights in September, only because neither of my children know how to keep a bloody blanket on. It kicked on a couple nights, but not for a week or so now! It has been getting up to 80 in the house this week!

heat was on one day for a couple hours, just to take the chill off. had the air on yesterday

leaves are a little behind here in mid-michigan, but not too far. we're still waiting for a killing frost, and the 10-day makes it look like last half the month before we got a shot. the normal first killing frost is right around now....
