I missed that game by a bit.

Eman bought Q2, and since I had the only gaming machine,we played it at my house.
I wasn't hugely into it, but he came over regularly to beat the Single Player.
When he had finished it, I suggested Multi-Player (and I had the beta 512K cable hook-up !)

.. We both got hooked on it.

Meanwhile Robes was more into UT.
Given my new interest in gaming,
and a choice between Q2 and lame UT,
I chose Q2
I played some DM, liked Lithium and HeadHunters (& Choke the Chicken),
but totally flipped over LM.
We had an original UT ressurection not so long ago,
and that was my first real experience playing it.
It was okay, and Insta was cool,
but I still prefer the look and feel of Quake.

Aside from my personal preference, I have followed {OF}'s
around just to play with them.
I loved the gore and speed of SoF2, but it was primarily
for them I played, and ditto on UT2K4.

Get BF2 Has, and in the meantime I'll find and keel you in Q3 Insta

Yes, Q2 brought OF together, Unreal for OFC, but I was saying the last time we all had huge games together.

If there was a split with UT and another game it was Q3. Wouldnt know there was a split though when you had to wait to get into the OF servers, whether it was regular weapons(early on in UT) or Insta(later on when most OF besides DMW and I were tired of the translocator).

There were other games, SOF2, RTCW, UT2003 and 2004, but none like UT.
Those were good days... I had a lot of good times back then playing UT. Remember when the OFC would stack up against the OF on that classic map Lavagiant.... I remember scrim'ing with you guys on Lava with NBK in particular... great times. I remember having the OF flag on top of the fort on Lava and some momo coming along and trans killing me for if I recall the final cap of the game.... hmmmm... remember?

I never could understand why everyone hated the Translocater. It wasn't hard to master and was really your only chance at getting your flag back or getting thier flag.

Remember that match against Cerial Killers Metal? I think that was one of the best matches I ever played.

There will never be a time such as those days again I fear. UT was just so..... so.... real.

The unreal community was pretty cool to. Guys like Toad from GB and Kravnos from C1 were remarkable players. Clans like NBK, C1, DHI were a blast to play with and always intense.

An ex-OF'er called Flip left us and started his own clan called FP (stood for Flips Penis) and that clan is still going today.....

Grog... remember Grog and his countless hours of play...

I could name so many and go on but I won't bore you.

Oh wait. one more.... remember the Mighty Mighty Smilies... Smiley challenged them just because he like thier name. Boy did we get our asses handed to us on a plate... 6 times over.

Anyways.... so are most thinking Q4 might be the next great thing? hehe

I kind of hope for a wicked looking game, great netcode, and some nice simple CTF, no fancy keystrokes, just plain ole CTF with some very good maps!

I agree UT what was brought a lot of us playing together last.

Right now I enjoy BF2 most, with still some UT2004 every now and then.

The thing is, we just enjoy hanging out together no matter what game we happen to be playing. Gaming is what brought us together, but this is my "on line family" if you want.

I wub you all!

I think it was Q2 that originally brought most of us together and have higher hopes for q4

hopefully it will have the same game play and attraction that kept us coming back for more and more

I think you guys (and online gamers in general) have become a bit jaded. We aren't as easily entertained as we used to be. Also, the hacking and cheating has really turned a lot of people off to competitve play. The ladders are dead these days. Go take a look at OGL and you will see what I mean.

In my opinion, there have been plenty of good games we could have played since UT. However, always for some reason or another people just didn't develop sufficient interest. If Q4 somehow brings about the miracle of increased interest I'm all for it but....
