No, I work in IT, not the 401k department.

I think you're doing fine Blong. The last 3 years have been good for you since you started your 401K 5 years ago...right in the middle of a major "correction". Starting in '02 the market was gaining hugely but only really getting back to where it was in 2000. Standard finance speak is be happy with 8% annualized returns. Add in company match and that looks better. At 26 you can afford to be quite aggressive since you can expect the retirement age to be 75 by the time you get there LOL. Make sure you have some international exposure too.

A good place for some basic (free) investing advice:

www.motleyfool.com

Go to the "fool school" section and then find 401k section on the left hand side:

http://www.fool.com/money/401k/401k.htm?source=LN

No mumbo jumbo lingo, mainly plain english. I subscribe to their stock advisor newsletter and so far it has worked pretty good for me.

This part is interesting...

"The typical investment choices in a 401(k) plan are likely to be:

* Money market funds
* Stable value accounts (guaranteed investment contracts (GICs) or bank deposit accounts)
* Bond mutual funds
* Stock mutual funds
* Llamas

Kidding. Llamas are not offered as an investment vehicle under any 401(k) plans. If your 401(k) is for some reason offering llamas, consider instead working for a company that is not run by somebody who's insane. Choosing to invest in llamas cannot possibly help your retirement. Now, back to the boring stuff."

The 401RK plan?

haha my goal is to retire by time i turn 60. as of right now if I earn 6% yearly I will ahve 2 mill in my 401k (according to Mcdonalds Investment cause I finally talked to one of them and they told me not to change a thing). that means I have just over 33 years left till retirement. Maybe in 13 years Ill start backing off on the agressive stuff. as for the gaining yes i believe it is because I started just before the low end of the recession. actually my biggest gaining mutual fund is my putnam international. just over 1/5th of my 401k funds are in that (that doesnt mean thats what im contributing to it).

LOL. Keep planning and paying man. You can't expect the Government to pay up. Like I said before, I agree that you're in good shape. 20% in international stocks is a good hedge. Now...what about those college funds?
