Hey guys - what do I need to join the RH/UT2K4 fragfest?

Howdy all. Hope all well with the OF'ers.....

Finally stabilized my new machine, and Erad's been after me to join the JB fragfest - I have the game loaded, is there an up to date list of maps/mods etc I can access?

Make sure you have Jailbreak installed, basically with all the maps available.

You can find them all and the jailbreak mod on www.planetjailbreak.com (UT2004 version obviously)

or on the OF FTP.

Excessive 3.02 is also good to have, but it should install fairly easily from the server itself. (just in case: www.excessiveoverkill.com)

In the Unreal Tournament forum, there's a sticky post with the latest maps that have been installed.

Any chance there's a zip file of the current RH maps that I could grab via FTP? Seems like I need a few dozen. Also...should I patch up to 3369?

No they are all seperate files. you could dl each map as you join the server but I would suggest getting the ut cache manager if you do this as it makes a world of difference Seems like I need a few dozen. Bear, something else to consider if you have a mic, get ventrilo so you get get on with us and get verbally abused too!

We use the old version of vent (2.1.4) cuz it's free. You can find it on the OF FTP and instructions on how to get it working are on the OF private forum as a sticky. It can be a little annoying to get going but once you have it set up it works like a charm

off topic somewhat but...is anyone using a USB headset/mic for BF2 AND able to use VOIP?

my mic is usb... but not my headset... my mic is the built in one for the logitec quickcam.. the best mic I used thus far! but my head set is a regular one from radioshack called the Extreme fold-ups.

which voip you talking about anyway? something like ventrilo? or something like Vonage?

no the BF2 ingame one. Vent works fine but the in-game comm doesnt.

I had to set my mic settings back to default (using the default button) in order for mine to start working again.
