Well I passed the MSF (info at
www.msf-usa.org) and now just need to go to the secretary of state and take the written test there, pass and get my cy endorsement. I am exhausted for sure and I have learned a TON in this course. Honestly I think it has made me more patient with things like driving (tailgating). I had a few problems with the clutch (yes I did Mac everyone does when they start out) but by the end of the class I had no issues with it and was shifting into first gear like it was a natural thing to do. Anyways we had 6 hours of learning the first day (driving bikes doing things like weaving around cones breaking, cornering, shifting etc). second day we had 5.5 hours of bike driving but the last 2 hours were the basic skills test. I was the only person their who had NEVER driven/rode a motorcycle/dirt bike.
Anyways for the riding test at the end of the bike course we had to pull into a box that is 20feet wide 60foot long. we had to go down the 60 foot side and do a u turn at the end staying inside the 20 ft line. then go back to the other end (going kitty corner across) and do another u turn staying inside the box. I did the worse on this part as I went out of the line 1x and put my foot down 1x. IMO this was the hardest thing on this test. After the last turn we had to accelerate out of the box get into 2nd gear and be going 12+mph and then "swerve" around an obsticle that was actually cones. Not sure the distance but it was easy for me and then we had to stop and downshift to wait for instructors ok to go to next station.
The next station we had to get up into second gear doing 12-18mph (not sure the distance) and then at a set of cones we had to downshift and break as fast as you could without skidding. I believe I was doing 17mph and had to stop at 20 feet. I stopped within 16 feet so I dont feel to bad about that one. I was in first when I stopped and did not lock up either front nor back tire whoop.
The last test we had to go around a corner get up to 20-25 mph in second. then at a set of cones slow down to go around a curve. while in the curve we had to accelerate out of the curve. That was fun

. we had to keep a speed of 12-15mph in the curve and mine was I believe 13mph.
You could lose a total of 15 pts and still pass. I lost 2 points 1 for going over the line and 1 for putting my foot down.
either way I had fun even though my face looks like a chili pepper haha. I also had to pass a classroom part for this course but eh no big deal.
