Not methane, current culprit is Radon gas, or other gas left over from the manufacturing area from 20 years ago, maybe, but I will keep y'all posted! If they have to shut down our building, I might lose my job.... But HELL, my health is worth more than a job....

Radon gas is 100% stable, should be unable to affect your BP; its doubtful that Lipitor has any profit from BP at all, they get more than enough business from the damn Atkins diet craze since nobody asks their pharmacist or doctor before butchering their kidneys to lose a bunch of water weight plus Lipitor was recently approved in Canada as a preventative treatment for diabetics and seeing as it runs 2$+ per pill here, the federal gov't covers it for all low income and all over 65yrs. 143/90 isnt a killer high BP though, what you should look at there is how long after meal time was it and what was eaten if its a whole group. Do you take luch at same time?
edit - is it a diuretic you take for BP or ace-inhibitor?

It's important to remember I am a CARD CARRYING tree hugger. I eat twigs for breakfast and think they taste like grape-nuts.. ( what a strange name for a cereal)
If you have very old water fountains.. Many of them have extremely high levels of lead that leaches. Lead is implicated in lots of health problems besides mental retardation in children. One of the other effects is high BP.
Or does the building have old copper with sweated joints? If the area is very old lead pipe was often used for the services to the building. Once inside they usually switched to either iron or copper.
Go ahead... someone throw the rotten tomato at me :P just make sure its organic.

The building was built in the 1970's. The area we are in was renovated from a loading dock to a bi-level office space 3 years ago. Before it was a loading dock, it was part of a hard drive and tape drive factory. We all eat lunch at different places and times. All the plumbing is new too.
Most of us never drink the water there anyway. Bottled water is the norm.

Theres lead in solder pipes too..
the older days of copper (60's and 70's) they used a solder called 50/50 which was 50% lead
they decided in the early 90's to switch it too 95/5 which was still 5% lead
now all they sell and all us plumbers use is lead free solder...it takes a little longer to solder because of the higher temps to melt it.. but it's worth it
my wife made me change all the pipes in my house to aquapex! good stuff.. no soldering and not much fittings...homerun plumbing !!!
anyway.. even after they stopped using lead pipes for plumbing. they still used lead in plumbing!

Kinda thought of another possibility but doubtful, was it a very hot day? apparently, for each degree above 21celcius (no idea in fahrenheit) you systolic pressure should go up 2-3 points
