Water Softeners?

Well I think I may finally break down and get one. 7 years and I am finally tired of the crap on the faucets and never able to keep the sinks/tubs/showers clean.
Looking to have the kitchen and bathroom redone too so really dont want all the hard water BS on the new stuff.

Any suggestions? Anyone with good or bad luck with any certain manufacturer?

I just paid culligan to come install ours. couldnt tell you what brand it is but its been running fine for 7 years now.

my parents had a culligan too, after 15 years it was still going strong, all they had to do was add salt.

are you coming to the lan Metal?

I had a Boss from Home Depot in the house in Sparta for 14 years with little problems. They are very easy to install once the plumbing is in place, I wouldn't do a Culligan because of the cost involved. With any of them all you do is add salt. Look at the home improvement places to see what they carry.

I had the plumber install a bypass using three butterfly valves so that I could remove the softener at any time (never needed to) and I could also bypass the softwater to fill the swimming pool or water the lawn with hard water.
