I thought it was pretty good too, although the ending is predictable.

This film, unlike most films I've ever seen, really made me feel like I was in the movie myself. The sounds, the confusion, the tension, it was all great.

I agree......
The character of the teenage son in that movie ... reminded me of my rebellious kid when he was 17 ..
I can't remember that far back .. but were we all like that ?

Hmm, I had to explain the ending to about 30 people around me. I thought it came to early and was just a easy way of ending it though myself.

Absolutely agree. I sat there flexing all my muscles all the time before i noticed what i was doing and calmed down.
Great special effects and the best monsters and filming ive seen for a long time.
The story had a few holes though. And the ending was way to quick and i had a huge question mark about how the hell
*SPOILER*
the son survived.. He went straight into that huge explotion. And for christ sake. Tom, why couldnt you just cut off the crazy guys legs or make him unconsious and tie him up? Ok, he would probably die from the mean monsters, but youre such a nice guy normally. The world has become so cruel!

Yeah, no idea how the son survived an explosion like that. The crazy guy needed to die. It was either him or all three of them, and Tom's character wasn't going to let it be all of them.

You guys obviously didn't read the book, see the original movie, or hear the radio show. The ending was faithful to the original story at least in substance.
It could have probably used a few more scenes though. I have a feeling that it was cut short so maybe we will see some additional footage on the DVD.
