Im out for a couple weeks.

My computer locks up within 30seconds of logging in. I have cleaned all the fans etc etcc etc and they all turn. It also takes FOREVER to login. So I am thinking its either my ram or my video card. I can figure out the ram by taking all 4 pieces out and putting them in one at a time but dont have time to check that today. If that dont work my only guess would be my video card overheating but that dont make sense cause the heat sink on it doesnt get so hot I cant touch it (though it does get hot). runs at about 60C the video card according to the temp prob on my coolermaster 6. I even tried going into safe mode without network support and it locked up within about the same amount of time.

This is blong btw not wild her computer works fine.

Trojan is my guess too. Have you tried running it without a network connection? Bring me the drive and I can test/clean it at work.

Only ran safe mode without network. I never disconnected the cable. I shall try that now. If I do have a virus it could be cause I came home to find my children had hit a gazillion buttons and I had about 300 open webpages.

I havent reinstalled this OS in the 4ish years I have had this computer.

*edit this time it locked up when I was about to enter the password to log in. I am pretty sure there isnt anything wrong with the drive BUT that doesnt mean anything.

Smiley I can drop it off at your work tomarrow???? I wont get home till 1-2am in the morning today but I have the rest of this week off. It is a raptor drive....

Either that or I should just instal Ubuntu and not ever use windblows again lol. course then I wouldnt be able to play some of the games everyone plays.
