Yes, i test drove this car, with the 6 speed manual last week, i thought it had some good pickup, although the engine doesnt start getting good power till in the late 6000rpms and early 7000s with red line around 73-7500 .... so hmm, unless i looked at upgrading and adding a turbo + chip, i would think RK's friend would be right, although i have heard good things from the MT vs AT.
I am at the stage where under no circumstances do i want an automatic ... lol
I am usually fine with my XM Radio, dont usually need anything more ... but, also like the mp3 player addon, thats always a plus
I did drive my friends 04 WRX for a couple hours the other day, and yes.... it was fun, but i like luxary as well, i want a good mix between the two.... and i really only wanted to spend around 25,000 base, but i could go to 30,000base i guess ..... just dont wanna go much higher ... lexus is getting to around 32 base, plus the only one that they have in MT is the RWD car, which sucks around here in the winter...
If i wanted to spend that much, i would probably go with the BMW 328xi

luxury and preformance...i dont put the two together...performance = handles well, rides a little rough, luxury = rides good, handles like ****. luxury cars might have the hp and whatnot, but handling wise they're giong to go soft because then they'd have rich people complaining about how rough a ride it is. lol, not making power till 6k def sounds like a honda engine to me. luckily my car weighs 1800 lbs so i dont notice the lack of power really.
but best 'performance'/luxury car would be bmw hands down

Depends on your definition of performance. If stomping off the line, powering into turns is performance, then yes, BMW is the way to go. Performance can also be measured in comfort, stability, smoothness of shifting etc. etc.
While the TSX or any Acura does not offer the type of performance BMW is known for, Acura has it's own. VTEC engine, smooth gear shifting, response turing without beating you up.
I test drove a BMW 5 series vs. an Acura RL vs Lexus GS350. The BMW in over all driving performance was better then the two Japanese but long distance driving comfort and performance, the Japanese cars were far superior IMHO. If I was going to take the car onto a racing track, the BMW hands down with the Acura RL second with it's incredible SH-AWD system.

comfort and whatnot is luxury not performance. bmw handles better and is faster than the other cars. i still wouldnt buy one because they're overpriced and parts are too expensive, but they are one of the more performance oriented luxury cars...the 3 series anyway, the others seem too big to do anything...but as i've said, i tend to take a much different outlook on car choices than majority of people...case in point, having two cars while still in college, lol
