New Addition to My RC Hangar..

Maidened this Sunday Morning (Aug 26th)
Bought this at a swap meet last October.

Specs:
Balsa USA 1/4 Scale J3 Cub
Wing Span 110 inches
Powered by a OS Twin 160 four stroke nitro engine. (Approx 2HP)
This air frame is 25 years old with original covering. Flew like the day it was new.
Engines sounds just great
Flies like a dream.
As one of the young guys said at the flying field when he looked at the cub, "That's an old man's airplane" heh....sure is.....

Very impressive G! A few more inches of wingspan and you can climb right on the back and take off yourself.

It's big enough to take one of my cats for a ride.

The guy I bought this from sold this one because he had purchased the 1/3 scale version of the J3, 140" Wingspan, 35 lbs. You could give children rides in that one.

It looks like you might have moved to a different field? I don't see corn.

I discovered there was an active club a half mile (as the crow flies) from my house Smiley. It's at the Jablonski Airport in Nunica & you can see it on I96 on the west side as you make the curve by Nunica as you head toward Fruitport & Muskegon.

We got trees instead of corn.

I still fly at the other field on occasion, but this one is more convienient, and has assembly tables and most important of all for us old farts, it has a working flush toilet in the hangar office we get to use .

It gets used for 3 things. Kneeling on when it's wet/muddy, but for the big planes, I place it below the prop/engine to keep excessive dirt from being churned up and getting sucked into the engine when the engine/prop gets running. The mat is heavy enough it doesn't get sucked up into the prop. As you can see from my dirty knees in the bottom picture I wasn't kneeling on it

Also if I'm on a good grass field, I place it so the fuel drips on it instead of killing the grass.

Since my (2) vehicles are chrysler/dodge products, of course I had to buy that one
