Ventrilo Viewer
Somewhat along the lines of being able to view Game Servers
from within the FragOnSight website, what are everyones' thoughts
on having a Ventrilo viewer to see who is on voice?

And I would love to do it and have tried many times to get it working, but it just isn't going to happen with the version of Vent that is being run.

We use the old version cause it's free for the server app. new versions cost $$ and as we are oldfarts we are cheap as well

I am running the new server on the QW:ET server, it was free, but I think the real problem is that it is only 8 slots for the free version.

Perhaps it would be better to move over to team speak....

People don't join the old vent server because they need to have the newer client for other servers (most of the time) and a lot of people don't want to bother with having both clients.

interesting people dont join the old server yet there are quite often 8+ people on vent. all thats required to have to clents open is a -m switch added to the shortcut. Then again its us old farts that are on it lol.

"C:\Program Files\Ventrilo\Ventrilo.exe" -m

TS also costs $$$ to run. Last I knew (coulda changed) you have to pay for one of their "liscenced" providers to provide you with TS access????

Yah, all that is stated above is the situation. If the new Ventrillo allowed more than 8 connections it would be the way to go. Both Vent and TS for the number of connections we would need cost $ per month as they are hosted servers, not stand-alone free versions.

But it is a great idea Dudio. Anytime you want to come up with work for Soul to do is a great idea
