ETQW Beta Unranked Server [August 04, 2007, 11:19 am ET] - Post a Comment

The Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Website has word that the Win32 Unranked Server Files for ETQW Beta 2 are now available, allowing server operators the chance to run and control their own server for the beta edition of the multiplayer shooter. Word is that work is also underway on a "lite" server that requires no client assets.

any interest in a FoS ET:QW beta server? Or are we waiting for the full game?

I haven't gamed much either due to summertime, work or burnout. I joined the ET:QW beta but have not played only to setup configs and horse around. But dont see alot of difference between it and BF. Obviously it's objective rather than flag capping but still similar in that to be effective you NEED teamwork and all classes. Probably more suited for clans/groups than BF.

I'm not sure if I will buy the full game off the bat or not until i see if there's a FoS commitment. BF2 & BF2142 started strong but quickly faded to a few loyalists. In part because IMO you cant beat the thrill of run-n-gun CTF

So I thought I might wait 'till a LAN to get it since that's when most of us would play, i think.

I know UT2k7 will be played, and even though I dont care much for it I know many community peeps will be there. As with any game...I'd much rather play with buds than just a random pub game.

So back to my original query...I was just wondering. Since everyone can play the beta for free and check it out.

I thought you could get from fileplanet?

subscriber means paid so its still not a free beta.

Anymore keys given out at this point are to subscribers only now, but the first ones I believe were open to free accounts as well. At this stage you're not going to get in this semi-closed/open beta.
