SOF 2 Problems

Ok Im having this odd problem.

Im not sure whats going on, but every server I have joined is telling me it's for Low pings only. Also I notice that anything that downloads from servers are horribly slow and once I enter one that the game lets me join my ping is always below 100.

So I'm not sure whats going on. I should be getting WAY faster downloads that 3kbs with my DSL. I've messed around with the game's settings and config file, but nothing seems to work.

I thought the days being left out of servers for being high ping were over yet the server is for low pings only message still plagues me even without 56k. Ironic really.

Anyway any ideas on what's going on?

Any help would be much appreciated and I thank you in advance for any assistance you all can provide in my time of great need.

Most of what your are seeing is prob due to the ROC Mod (which we don't run) you can specify the max ping, they can set it at what ever they want, so that is probably why that is happening.

Q3 engine based games always have had incredibly slow downloads, I am presuming that is to keep bandwidth usage open for the game as opposed to downloads.

Oh well thats a relief. =-P I wish the SOF 2 server list had a way to just list the pure servers or whatever its annoying really.

Hey Nomad Soul, Try changing your rate,

In console type /rate 20000, thats a pretty good rate, it might help

Ya .. for sure, check your rate first.

If you're still having trouble, then maybe
your internet connection has troubles, and
you may want to call your ISP

I believe you can set your rate up to 90000 before pb kicks
