I really think this game can adapt to just about any style. If you're not into shooting, you can play the engineer and just build a sentry gun somewhere sneaky. Keep it alive and you'll rack up a ton of kills.
Or you can be sneaky and play a spy. You can rack up the backstab kills and sap enemy buildings and you'll get a ton of points.
Or you could play a demoman, laying a pile of grenades at a critical bottleneck. Blow up anyone who comes close and you can get a ton of points this way.
There are plenty of other ways to have fun and be a strong member of the team without having to get into the hot-and-heavy. This game really can be what you want it to be. I switch classes ALL THE TIME depending on the mood that I'm in.

I see Smiley as a Pyro...waiting around corners and destroying people close up...but that could just be Sof2 flash backs.

OK, I grabbed the Orange Box today too....... Will load it up this weekend... I sure hope it isn't like QW and BF games where you need to bind and remember 999 different keys to be able to play.....
And Smiley, If Blong can drive on bald tires, so can.................... OK, forget that idea.

Erad, negative on the binding 999 keys in QW either....
That was one reason I was not interested in QW when I first heard about it... but downloaded the demo and was pleased to see very little binding needed.
I changed my forward, back, fire, crouch, prone(no more than other games I have played since I cant use themovement defaults)... thats its.. everything else is fine at default. All weapons and tools are simple presses of the numbers.
They had to make it easy so console players could play it. So I 100% disagree with the 999 keys to bind and remember in QW.

BF2 didn't need a million key bindings either... anyway...
TF2 is very simple, each class a first weapon, secondary, and then melee. From there there is the special ability which is the fourth that pops up a visual of what to do from there (and not surprisingly that's just as simply as hitting another number key). The maps are also smaller, its 24 players max game so you get the idea here. No vehicles (the worst thing to happen to MP games in oh about a billion years) to screw up your gaming experience either.

I have rode and driven on bald tires. You ride a motorcycle but drive a car.
