oh man.. reading thru alot of these.. omg.. you wonder what goes thru there mind? fear would be my first bet. Courage = controlled fear , or so I have always believed.. but reading thru many of these from the Korean, Vietnam, etc.. you would almost think you would have to feel there is nothing left or no where to go. the one where 13 guys took on over 150 via rifel butt and bayonett.. incredible

I think self preservation driven by fear is a powerful thing. Add a little adrenaline and people can do just about anything. Amazing stuff to read.
