Hurricane Katrina

Anybody in our community get any damage from this? I'm about 30mins north of Atlanta and we just got a lot of wind and rain. The wind is still blowing pretty gusty at times.

My Mom and Dad live in North Georgia but have a home/farm outside of Meridian Miss. They left this morning to go see if the extent of the damage.

Just wondered how some of you "bama" boys and stuff are fairing in all this.

Was just watching TV and they said one of the dikes gave way and the city is slowly flooding and they are worried about all the people in the superdome and a large hospital. That is some bad stuff, I would never wish that on anyone, But kind of have to expect that would happen living below sea level and all.

I do know some people that live in gulfport (Keesler AFB) I saw some pitucres of the are and it is a mess.

They're saying now 80% of New Orleans is under water, and its just going to get worse until they can fix the dikes. Which its hard telling how long that could be. There's also worry about the condintion of the Superdome, thought I dont know how severe that is right now.

Its also terrible all over the place, even in the northern parts of those states due to the many tornado's that have spun off of the hurricane. Its all so very sad, and just keeps getting worse.

My plant is in MS on the border of LA, across the Pearl River from Slidell. We have received no information about the people that work for us, or the condition of the plant.

Been watching all the american news channels(i knew i had em for a reason) looks pretty ****ed up.

Hope yall ok and get it all sorted out ASAP. Dont think i would wish being flood out on anyone i had it happen to me twice but notin ever that bad, clearly.

They say we are going to feel the rain for two days and the wind starting tomorrow.
Been a terrible looking day, cloudy and rain, but it's notrhing compaired to some.

Yeah that really sucks. I live in Shreveport way up north and we didnt even get rain from it. Thats the power of mother nature. Those videos were insane and those idiots looting and stuff? Sickening. My dad works at our local newspaper company and it was reported that Shreveport alone got 33 thousand calls to hotels here from people trying to get away from New Orleans.

I wonder how many other countries have offered us help . . . like we do for them all the time.

The pictures of the destruction are so total in places like Gulfport. Reminds me of the Tsunami. I doubt that New Orleans will be anything like it was in the past once this is all sorted out. Strange to see the oil tankers on top of buildings and that oil rig slammed against the bridge. Those folks have a long hard time ahead of them.
