My 2 cents:

Right now all major stockholders and customers loading out of my facility are put on daily allocations. When it runs out, they will have to get their gas somewhere else. Some are put on daily, or just an over all allocation.

last I heard there is 3 major refineries that are out as well as the many pipelines, so the supply is extremely low. Outages are already being expected for many areas and although they raised the price of gas, allocated the amounts to be sold, they will still run out. Rumor this morning it might go on for 2 months at least and with N.O. 80% underwater and their figures of 1 month before power can even start to be restored.. this is not good.

As for your station.. I have some stations that will take many loads per day out of my facility. Some due to pure volume of customers, and some due to smaller tanks. As I write this I am staring at 3 trucks waiting in my lot with no were to go! They have been here for a couple of hours now and they have been cut off.. they are still waiting to be told were they will have to drive to pick up their load.

This is just the beginning! I believe it will be a hell of a bump to go over.. the 70's oil shortage was before my time.. but i think we might live thru something like that again real soon.

As for the lan.. I dont care if it costs my $100 to get there.. IM COMING!! ( fair warning )

I would suggest planning ahead and car pooling if you can, or even look into airfair.. it might be alot cheaper to fly then drive pretty soon.

The news said that the gulf refineries only provide 10% of our useage. Gas went up 81 cents this past week. I got it last week for 2.68 and today it's 3.49.

If it was a war for oil, where is it? or did we lose?

Rs thanks for the info.."apparently" they are trying to price people out of the market to quell the demand for gas. Such as in atlanta where it is now over $5.00 a gallon to try to stop the demand.

Also apparently we chose the war for oil when we should have chose the war for refineries ...who knew

/sarcasm

This story ran in 2004. Europe is averaging more than double the U.S. level of $2.24 a gallon -- with prices at the pump averaging $5.07 a gallon in France, $5.36 in Germany and $5.59 in Britain

So I'm guessing in Europe it is well over $6.00/gallon...$6.50 to be exact.

I was going to make a slam on the folks that prevent building of new refineries, but I think I'll just

As someone who works in the petroleum industry I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies import Middle Eastern oil and those that dont:

Shell... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco... 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil...130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway...117,740,000 barrels
Amoco...62,231,000 barrels
Citgo...0 barrels
Sunoco...0 barrels
Conoco...0 barrels
Sinclair...0 barrels
BP/Phillips...0 barrels
Hess...0 barrels
ARC0...0 barrels

All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each company is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.

As far as refineries....I'm with MA on this one. Dont get me started.

And you can expect another tomorrow btw.

Not sure if it was posted, but locally to me in Ontario,
gas has been as much $3.82 U.S.
Looks to still be rising.

.. bless my bike

You folks who voted these oil soaked millionaires into office shouldn't be whining about the price of gas.

Just saying...

I will be watching this thread closely. I was quite shocked at how the other thread in this area got out of hand.
