Well, if she would have gone with him without arguing she would not have gotten sprayed with mase. He gave her every opportunity to go without a problem. If she would have gone she would have been cleared and that would have been the end of it. I dont think she deserved 60K for what happened to her. Partly her fault for arguing.

Spray somebody with mace over $10? He obviously was doing personal business there. What is the process that a normal citizen would have to go through over such an amount?

She followed the proper procedure: got the manager involved, etc. He should have to follow the same steps that anybody else shopping there would go through, and not abuse the priviliges that come with his position as a law enforcement officer.

Also, it appears she was innocent and he was in the wrong! As far as I'm concerned he is lucky to still have a job.

He should have called for back-up. I know he was wrong but her attitude got her mased. She should have shown more respect instead of being so angry.

I was surprised he said he was taking her to jail. He could not take her to jail for that. Besides that the manager was in the wrong. The correct procedure would have been the manager takes out the till puts a new till in. the the manager counts down the till to see if there is +$10 in the till. if there was then the officer gets his $$$ back.

That officer had no right to take that girl to jail nor spray her with mace. She was not a threat to the officer therefore he had no reason to spray that mace. However I would have made sure the manager did the right thing by counting my till down. she may not have known that was the procedure though if she was brand new as that is nto something they tell you right away.

Basically the manager was the person who should have been requested taking to jail not the employee. Manager is responsible for all employee's actions while on the job. I am not saying they have to take responsibility of the employees action. what I am saying is they have to rectify what the employee did. Make it right so to speek. I guess I know what im thinking just not sure how to correctly put it into words. If she was off duty then it would have been her fault.
