Looking for some new headphones
I have had a pair of Koss headphones for about 10 years now and sadly they are starting to die.
Don't have the model #, but they were full over the ear head phones (meaning they covered the entire ear)
So I am in the market for a new pair and am looking for real life use suggestions (meaning if you have a pair that you love what is it)
So fine people of FoS what are your favorites?
Price range would be under $100

Are you looking for "just music" headphones or mic/headphone combo? I have a plantronics setup (don't know the model # off the top of my head) for computer stuff that I really love - even for just listening to music.

I really enjoyed my Plantronics.
Good for voice and gaming, and had
better sound for music than others
in its price range.
(I had the Audio 90's)
Plantronics

Sennheisers?
I'm not a big fan of Koss,
and think you'd be amazed by these.

sennheiser for the win!
i've had two sets of sennheisser's, SD150's i think first, but after dropping them one too many times the earcup fell off, lol. i liked the sound quality of them so much i got another set with built-in mic. i love them. not too expensive either.

theres only one set of headphones for you, the bose QC2, they are excellent, the were designed for airline travel because they are noise cancelling, of course they have a hefty price tag at 300 smacks but I had the oportunity to hear a pair at a bose store and sure enough as loud as that store was with home theater systems and such, I only heard the crisp music, I highly recommend them and I think at crutchfiels you get a bose cd player free right now.

UGH! JT, one of the first things you learn when you get into high end audio is that Bose actually makes crap products and then proceeds to over price them out of the roof.
When it comes to headphones you have a few options. My first one is of course Sennheiser, they make the best headphones in your budget.
There is a huge range of Sennheiser headphones. Lots of options that fall into your price range. The HD 485 really comes to mind in the under $100 budget. Probably the best headphone in your price range. These baby's sound amazingly good too.
If your willing to go higher (or find a really good deal somewhere) you could maybe find a pair of Sennheiser HD 555s.
Other companies worth looking into at your price include Grado and AKG.
Grado makes AWESOME rock headphones. Their headphones are well known for the very tight impact that they. Anything that's hard rockish is very enjoyable on these. The Grado SR 60 fails under your budget and does not need a headphone amp to sound their best, gread headphone if you really want something rock. Some people do have comfort issues though with these headphones. I didnt when I tried them, but its a well known issue with all Grado headphones.
AKG makes a great headphone as well. The AKG K 141 S is their best model in your price range, but that is cutting it very close. These are good if you like rock/rap. I dont personally care to much, but a lot of people enjoy them.
With your budget I'd pick up the Sennheiser HD 485s. The Grado's are worth looking into though if you have some place where you could try them out. They do have comfort issues with lots, so you would really want to try a pair before buying a Grado. The Sennheiser's though fit great, they probably make the most comfortable headphones I've used.
Check out headphone.com, I would really buy from them, but they have a very wide range of options to look at, and tell you alot about the headphones (such as if you'd need a headphone amp etc.).

I presume you meant headphones.com.
But I don't see the Sennheiser HD 485 listed
Thanks all for the input

No, I mean headphone.com. Click on headphones on the front page, then on all headphones, under Sennheiser you will see the HD 485 pair.
