Taurus is FWD. This vehicle is definitely RWD and is equipped with headers (even though the one on the driver's side is not bolted in place. I suppose there's a remote possibility that this is a truck but I'm gonna stick with Mustang as above.

Taurus never had v8s to my limited knowledge of cars.

I'm with Barney, definitely a FI Ford 302 (5.0L), probably of a mid 1990s vintage. There is a header partially in place on the driver's side of he engine. That header and with the struts I also think it is a Mustang.

It's a 5.0 Litre,
but it's been dropped in a Comet.

Not a Comet, not a Taurus (never had v8's), not a truck and not sideways mounted! It looks like a 1989 Mustang 5.0 (not the GT). I had one of these for about 2 years and spent alot of time under the hood trying to get that last bit of HP out of her. Crashed it at El Mirage Dry Lake bed in bracket races. Damn I miss that car

Quote:
More exotic is the first Taurus V8, a joint Ford/Yamaha design installed in the SHO.

Rated at 240 hp, it delivers plenty of punch and thrives on high rpm. Like the other

Taurus engine choices, it is available only with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
