I'm guessing you're talking Thai food here? I enjoy Thai curry but tend to lean heavily to the Indian curry, Vindaloo being my favourite.
Sorry to hear about the divorce

Trust me I've been there.
Yes, the really complex and outstanding wines are expensive. Best bet on a budget in South Africa or Chili as they have some exceptional wines available in the sub $30 range. For a very good wine in the $20 range they are also your best bet. You can still enjoy a wine in the $10-$20 range they just wont have the complexity or finish of a more expensive/refined wine. Of course every once in a while a diamond in the rough shows up. I buy a case when that happens
One little rant. French wines really don't "get it". Very confusing labeling, bad branding and an elitist attitude. These factors and others have allowed countries like Australia to step up to the plate. As wine gains more popularity in North America, French wine sales are down. Wine drinking has undergone an explosion in North America as more of us have moved from beer/liguor to wine. This market wants their wine ready to drink now and not have to sit in a cellar. First off who the hell has a cellar or the money to start one? Some countries get it, some don't....
