i know, i've tried it two seperate times. but i dont like the aim side of things, they give you the minimal functionality and i just like how aim sets up away messages and profiles, etc. i couldnt sit there going through everyones away message when i got bored with trillian, lol

I have ICQ, but don't use it much anymore. My son uses IM, he uses it all the time, I've been thinking for sometime about installing Trillian but I haven't did it yet.

With Trillian, is there a way to log on just IM and not ICQ when using it or vise versa?

i use miranda which is far superior to all other IM programs
why, you ask?
because i'm captain internet and am just that cool

ahahhaha
but really
the community plugins written for it are just amazing
it's SUPER customizable and supports irc, jabber, msn, icq, yahoo, aim, skype, openQ, ichat, and a whole bunch of other ones that i have never heard of

it's open source and written in C (i'm pretty sure)

one of my favorite plugins is whoisreadingmyaway
it's for icq
what this one does is when people read your away message, it pops up a little window that says XXX is reading your away message
you can customize it to show what the status of the person reading it is (like, away, N/A, invisible YES INVISIBLE TOO!!, online, etc...)
it can show internal and external ips, play a sound when a certain person reads your away and even write to a log file

it's 2 cul
a must
have
