Innovative solution to detecting Tsunamis using a peer-to-peer network of laptops. (Some laptops monitor hard drive shock and this can be read by this sofware being developed.) Still in the experimental stage but I think this has some promise for a cheap detection solution.

very cool. We have computers here at work that monitor vibrations of our machinery but they dont use hard drive vibration to monitor the vibration lol.
