Reguardless of the what you shoot, the 50 cal would have about the same affect on the person you shoot with it

I've seen the for sale at some gun stores...kind of scarey that they would sell them to anyone. Then again how many 50 cal snipe killings have we had. Rounds are kind of expensive about $20 a shot.

i've seen that video a thousand times
and as slink said, aint no taliban and i doubt that's a .50 cal
i'm 97% sure they are shooting hand-loaded 22-250AI
22-250 is a very common varmint cartridge (second only to .223/5.56NATO because it's extremely accurate when loaded right and shot from a quality gun)
what they are shooting is an improved 22-250
ie: 22-250 Ackley Improved
the cartridge is the same length (i think), just a larger diameter around the bottom for faster/more uniform powder burn
this (has the potential to) give you much more velocity and with the right twist and bullet grain, accuracy
they're probably shooting polymer tipped bullets too
or hollow point if close enough
rapid expansion of the bullet = gibbbbbs
