I was a mom for a year after my divorce (I had custody of my two boys) and I worked fulltime. I'd rather be a Dad . . .

First of all, a Dad and a husband. (a pretty spoiled and lucky one at that)

Production Manager at one of the manufacturing plants of a very large construction materials company.

Responsible for the production shifts, shipping department, control systems, refractory and fuels from a budgetary and operational point of view.

Our plant ships a little over a million tons of cement to eastern Illinois, western Iowa and the Twin Cities markets. (and some to Madison WI this year).
I've been with the company for 15 years and started as junior engineer, then corporate process engineer, then worked as environmental, systems (not IT) and process manager. Happy to be where I am and starting to seriously think that the politics and BS on the next level aren't worth it.

holy crap i imagine!
i obliterated an insert and knocked the boring bar holder back an inch or so..
the moving bar and holder broke a small part that feeds coolant from the turret to the tool
costs around 500 bucks to replace
thankfully, there was an extra one..

i feel like a dummy ):

lol. Got the promotion this past Feb. Was a Sr. Systems Engineer....before, doing much of the same but with all the workstation support etc, now I'm focused on the bigger picture and managing our server infrastructure and overall health. I've been working in IT since 98 Smiley, so I guess my experience got me here? As a consultant I spent much of my time planning for client needs and preparing them for the future. My current employeer was a consulting client of mine before they offered me the Engineer position. So they knew what they were getting with me

I just need to finish my college degree now....

I am sitting here thinking about all that I do and I dont think I have enough space to say it all LOL

I am the proud wife of Chris (aka FraQ), mother of 2 ....kids and step-mom to 1 boy who will be 11 in Sept. He has worked hard this year. He's on the presidental list at school and he is in the accelerated classes. (He is one smart kidlet) Quite a few nights spent at the kitchen table doing homework. I still dont know who learned more...him or I.

I work at the home office of a multi-faceted large petroleum based business. I have been in Accounts Payable for the last 3 years. Hell, I was THE A/P dept for 6 companies for 2 of those years! I would cut checks to the tune of roughly 3 million a month (not including federal tax on gasoline (2 mill a month) or EFT's to the big 3 (I dont even want to ponder)) After busting my azz for 3 years, I was put under the one person in the office that I can not stand. I transferred over to Accounts Receivable 2 months later

I currently have my hands full. There is approx 2.5 mill in outstanding receivables! and part of my job is to either get that money in pronto or gather everything for the lawyers. I also order all of our fuel. I track all inventory, post up sales orders and deliveries. I am still learning about the "bulk lube" dept. (10w40 by the barrel or transmission fluid, etc.) In the bulk plant side, there is Fuel oil, Propane, Diesel Fuel, Unleaded, Plus, Premium, Kerosene. I also have several "dealer" stations that I process their credit cards, deducting CC charges/EPOS, billing rent, processing payments....Lord the list goes on and on.
