Last I check the Wii hadn't actually targeted a specific demographic. They are going after your casual gamer and those that aren't gamers. Yeah it is geared towards families but not children. What age are you thinking Blong?

I have to agree with LoPo, graphics are meh but Zelda has gotten awesome reviews....

10-11-12 year olds. when I looked at the games at gamespot they were all geared towards that age group.

From what I have been reading people are having all kinds of issues with the wii to get it setup. The most common thing has been trying to get the motion sensor lined up, attaching a strip to the top or bottom of the TV. Once aligned it only works well for 1 person and only so so for 2. Any more players than that creates problems as you are supposed to be centered in front of the tv. Also I guess the wii needs to connect to the internet on first boot up to update the firmware and I guess there have been problems with the firmware turning the wii into a brick. So you might want to "test" that thing out before so your kids don't have a bad Christmas. Now, I don't know how common these problems are or if I have just run into the same complaints by dumb luck. Also read that the motion controllers really just need a flick of the wrist.

On the PS3 front I have read that it is not as good as the xbox360 and games that are out for both 360 and ps3, the 360 looks better. I haven't seen any so I can't say from personal experience.

Anyway, not sure if any of this is accurate - just thought I would relay what I have read/heard.

You actually do not even need the sensor. You can place two objects about the same distance apart as the two IR points on the sensor and they'll act as a boundary for the Wiimote.

The Wii graphics will get better, and decently so. The system is based on the Gamecube with enhanced CPU and GPU. The clocks are also double that of the GC, so graphics will certainly be better, and certainly be better than the Xbox considering you could argue if the GC or Xbox had the better visuals.

Well after reading what people posted in here my husband and I decided to test out the wii we bought for our children and other than my husband being a complete idiot on the arguement about hooking the internet up we realy had no problems. I was sitting about 10 feet from the console and the tv and the wiimote worked fine however my wiimote skills realy suck. The little bit I played of zelda had me confused my my husband loved it and didn't wanna pack it back up for christmas.
