Tyson vs McBride Summary

Round 1: Tyson opens without the fury he usually displays early, appearing tentative and awkward against the much larger McBride. Tyson lands one good body shot, but McBride has the better of the action and dictates tempo.

Round 2: Tyson lands a good left to start the round, but McBride comes back with two left hooks, doubled up. The round is marked by several clinches, with McBride landing several effective shots. Tyson appears to be tired out by the clinches

Round 3: The most aggressive Tyson has been so far. He lands a big left and some good body shots in an attempt to chop down McBride. But he is unable to follow up and appears exhausted at the end of the round.

Round 4: Tyson has McBride in trouble early, landing several big shots, including a right uppercut (and an obvious low blow that goes unpunished). But McBride weathers the onslaught, leans on Tyson and, just before the bell, slips in a combination.

Round 5: McBride consistently picks off Tyson with jabs early, and by the end of the round pins Tyson against the ropes. He hits Tyson with several uppercuts, and Tyson appears to be saved by the bell. He wobbles to his stool.

Round 6: Desperate, Tyson comes out swinging harder than he has all night. But McBride stands up to it, forcing Tyson to even more desperate measures -- first he tries to break McBride's left arm, then he purposely head butts the big Irishman, opening a cut above his left eye. Tyson is docked two points for the head butt. After a break, Tyson lands a left hook, but it does no damage. McBride forces Tyson into the ropes, hitting him and leaning on him until Tyson slides to the floor. Referee Joe Cortez rules it a slip, but Tyson takes his time getting up. It's a sign of things to come, as Tyson does not return for the seventh round.

Tyson has no more heart for fighting.. what has been done to him in the recent past has left him spiritless and mentally defeated.

well I think he brought some of that on himself, the guy is obviously washed up and whoever would pay for his most recent fights has got to be crazy he's finished
